Kelowna, British Columbia

Kelowna is a vibrant lakeside city in the world-renowned Okanagan Valley,
primarily known as one of the finest wine regions Canada has to offer.

Kelowna

This picturesque city on the banks of Okanagan Lake is also famous for its beach parks, water sports, golf courses, nature trails, fine-dining, and ski hills. The lakeside retreat of Kelowna is enveloped by the gorgeous landscapes of the Okanagan Valley, which boasts another claim to fame as one of the most unique climates in Canada.

In a country known for ice and snow, the Okanagan Desert makes us question what we knew, as the valley plays home to desert shrubs and cacti, freshwater lakes, lush vineyards, and in the winter, cozy chalet après after a day shredding powder at Big White Ski Resort.

Its many attractions sit amid a backdrop of canyons, orchards, rolling hills, and vineyards. With over 40 wineries in Kelowna and over 60 grape varieties, wine-lovers are spoiled for choice. While the Okanagan Valley is a delightful place to be a grape, it is also bountiful with seasonal apples, cherries, apricots, plums, peaches, and pears. Wineries include Cedar Creek Estate Winery, Kalala Organic Estate Winery, Mission Hill Family Estate, and Summerhill Pyramid Winery, and more. Sample fine wines accompanied by local farm-to-table cuisine while taking in the breathtaking views of the stunning Okanagan.

The Okanagan First Nations people settled here more than 6,000 years ago and Europeans arrived in the 1800s. Today, the city offers unforgettable family vacations, romantic getaways, and weekend adventures to suit any traveler. Banff, Alberta

Visit the highest town in Canada and explore the pristine wilderness which surrounds it.
Banff is the perfect place from which to explore Canada's Rocky Mountains.

Banff

Surrounded by the pristine wilderness of the Banff National Park and central to many of the region’s best attractions, Banff is popular throughout the year. The town's native population of 10,000 is supplemented by around 4 million visitors each year.

Skiers are spoilt for choice with several ski resorts nearby. Try the slopes at Mt Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Resort, or Sunshine Village. Mt Norquay is the favorite of the locals, it has the least crowds and the most advanced slopes. Both Lake Louise and Sunshine Village have huge numbers of ski runs to choose from, from advanced to beginner. The easiest way to get there is to catch one of the shuttle buses which pick up from all the hotels in town.

In summer, the landscape around Banff transforms from a winter wonderland to green wilderness, ripe for a whole variety of outdoor pursuits. There are hundreds of trails to explore, from easy strolls alongside streams to strenuous hikes that wind around vibrant blue lakes. Summer or Winter, a visit to stunning Lake Louise is in order, to capture a shot of one of Canada’s most photogenic lakes.

Mountain biking is another great way to explore and there are bike-rentals in the town that can also provide maps of the best trails in the area. Rent a kayak and get out on one of the incredible vivid blue lakes in the area for a different perspective, or book a tour for worry-free exploration.

Get out on the town after a day of skiing or cycling. Being a vacation destination, a party atmosphere pervades the town all year round. There are some excellent nightclubs and bars in the center of town. Don't miss the Dancing Sasquatch, a local institution that is open until late.

Banff is around an hour and a half from Calgary by car or four hours south of Jasper. For tips on the best way to explore the beauty of Banff by land, contact your local Vacation Consultant.

Niagara Falls, Ontario

Composed of Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls, Niagara Falls is the widest waterfall
in North America, and the aptly nicknamed “honeymoon capital of the world.”

Niagara Falls

Families and honeymooners flock to witness the stunning beauty and power of the thunderous Niagara Falls. Tourists who take the time to explore the local sights are rewarded with postcard-worthy views, small-town charms, and an inimitable sense of being away from it all.

Lovebirds head downstream for a secluded piece of paradise, kids get their kicks at the Marineland Theme Park or one of many year-round haunted houses, and parents can channel their inner Lady Lucks at the local casinos. The whole family can join in on a Niagara Falls staple: a ferry boat ride on the Maid of the Mist to get up close and personal to the breathtaking falls. Insider tip—bring a rain jacket.

Both Ontario and New York own a piece of the action, but the Canadian side features a major claim to fame: Horseshoe Falls, the largest — and arguably most majestic — of the area’s natural wonders. Take a trip to Table Rock House’s free observation deck for the best views, and then head to the nearby Journey Behind the Falls tunnels for an unforgettable vantage point. Just make sure to keep your eyes peeled for Old Scow; this barge nearly plummeted off Horseshoe’s cliff in 1918, and it remains sandwiched between the rocks to this day.

Of course, Niagara Falls offers more than simply water, water everywhere. Clifton Hill features an amusement park and wax museum, and the Skylon Tower is the best spot to capture some beyond gorgeous views. Land-lubbers will adore the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and Butterfly Conservatory, but culture buffs may prefer the Queen Street Arts and Culture District.

This decidedly city-centric neighborhood features cool boutiques, must-see art galleries, and several delicious bistros. Plus, if you search for Niagara Falls package deals in the area, you’ll be in a great location to explore the cultural sights and take a few turns on the Niagara Skywheel all in the same day.
