Charity of Choice:
Breast Cancer Research
At Expedia CruiseShipCenters, we believe in giving back to our agents, customers and community. That's why we've been raising money to support breast cancer research and awareness, our charity of choice, for over 10 years. Sadly, we have firsthand experience of this disease with our Vacation Consultants, Franchise Partners, Suppliers and many customers. This is why we believe that raising money for breast cancer research is an excellent charity for us to support as an organization.
At Expedia CruiseShipCenters we take an active role in promoting breast cancer awareness and are constantly searching for ways to raise money for this incredible cause. Here's a look at some of the fundraising events we hold annually:
Each year we've partnered with a cruise line to host our annual Cruise for the Cure; a sailing dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness. With $64 CAD from every stateroom booked, the 2013 Cruise for the Cure raised $21,815 for the Breast Cancer Society of Canada. Next year's Cruise for the Cure will take place March 9-16, 2014 and will be held aboard Royal Caribbean's Freedom of Seas.
Annually, on the Expedia CruiseShipCenters National Conference, attendees dress in pink from head to toe and walk the walk in support of raising awareness for breast cancer research. Aboard the 2012 National Conference, with personal donations from Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises and Expedia CruiseShipCenters, the onboard initiative raised more than $17,000!
Expedia CruiseShipCenters goes pink across North America for the annual Dress for the Cause event! Our Corporate Support staff as well as Franchise Partners and Consultants from our centers dress in pink from head to toe to show their support for this cause
Started by breast cancer survivor, Carol Ann Cole, the Comfort Heart initiative has already raised over 1 Million dollars for breast cancer research! Expedia CruiseShipCenters agents are supporting this program by selling these pewter hearts to their friends, customers and anyone who has been touched by cancer.
