CruiseShipCenters Awarded 2007
Canadian Franchise Association Award of Excellence

Organization becomes first to win in consecutive years

Toronto, ON; May 28th, 2007 - The Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) has named Vancouver-based CruiseShipCenters International as the recipient of its 2007 CFA Award of Excellence. The award, which recognizes the franchise system best able to demonstrate superiority in franchisee/franchisor relations, was presented during the CFA's annual convention in Montreal.

“This award is considered the ultimate prize in Canadian franchising,” says Lorraine McLachlan, President & CEO, Canadian Franchise Association. “This year we are pleased to award it to CruiseShipCenters, a company that continues to build strong relationships with its franchisees and offers exceptional support to help them succeed.”

CruiseShipCenters’ win marks the first time that the award has been given to the same recipient in consecutive years. The winner is chosen based on the results of a franchisee survey conducted by Ryerson University. This year’s finalists were White Spot and The Property Guys. Past recipients include M & M Meat Shops, Kwik Kopy Printing, Wendy’s Restaurants and Color Your World.

“Receiving this award is a huge honour for us because it is based on what our franchisees have said about us,” says Michael Drever, President and CEO of CruiseShipCenters. “To be recognized twice in two years is powerful proof that our team has built the most solid franchising model in Canada.”

The announcement comes at a time when CruiseShipCenters is significantly expanding its operations. The company is preparing to open its first US location this summer and it recently partnered with Magic Johnson Enterprises to launch the Magic Johnson Travel Group, the first minority focused, home-based travel agent initiative. Last month, the company announced a long-term strategic partnership with Expedia®, the world’s leading online travel company.
