About the Ship
The aptly-named Millennium was launched in 2000, and it’s one of Celebrity’s largest vessels. Millennium measures 964 feet in length, weighs 91,000 tons, and is capable of serving 1,950 passengers. The ship’s 11 passenger decks are packed with bars, lounges, restaurants, swimming pools, and more—all of it designed with luxurious simplicity. Still, the ship manages to mix luxury with a laid-back attitude, which suits its predominantly upper-middle class passengers perfectly. Millenium presents an artful blend of extravagant amenities and stress-free entertainment. Every lavish dinner in the Olympic Restaurant can be tempered by a poolside hamburger on the Resort Deck. A first-rate spa, excellent live music, and a rollicking casino keep Millennium’s passengers entertained for the duration of their cruise. Millennium’s many public spaces are adorned with an impressive selection of contemporary art. The ship also has the first-ever at-sea floral conservatory, and it also has an innovative Acupuncture at Sea studio. A cyber café and two-story library provides welcome respite from the constant schedule of activities and entertainment—plus, the library rents iPods This ship’s passenger complement consists primarily of baby boomers, 40-something couples, and the like. Passengers hail from Europe, the Americas, and further afield; all seem to appreciate that Millennium offers the feel of a luxury ship at mid-range prices. Singles and 20-somethings are rare on this vessel, but passengers do kick back and party in lively nightspots like the Rendez-Vous Lounge. Kids are welcome, too: Celebrity’s Fun Factory offers activities from 9 AM to 1 AM daily.
